This wonderful blend from Chivas, originally created in the early 20th century, is made up of around 50 different whiskies from across Scotland. Despite this being one of the cheaper whiskies you will find on the market, it manages to have a complexity and balance that makes it feel and taste like a premium blend.
Creamy in texture, this 12 Year Old delivers notes of lemon, vanilla and wood chips on the nose. These are followed up by banana, malted barley and just the right amount of black pepper on the palate that creeps in subtly. More black pepper and an elegant sweetness follow as you exhale, bringing the whole dram together and lingering for a perfect amount of time. Given its price, the Chivas Regal 12 Year Old is more than worth trying for those just getting into whisky or even seasoned experts.
